Greg Sansonetti (above, left) and Dave Kardas bring a combined 20 years of experience to the Newtown Parks and Recreation Tennis Camp – scheduled to begin July 7 and run through August 15. Sansonetti and Kardas currently direct seven town and YMCA Tennis Programs.

The head pro is Gustavo Reaes (above, right) who started playing competitive tennis at age seven and played for Division I Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Gustavo taught at Barra Sul and Centro Carioca Tennis Club in Brazil from 1996 to 1999. Since then Gustavo finished college with a degree in exercise science and has worked as a personal trainer as well as a private tennis instructor in the Fairfield County area.

Gustavo’s brother, Thiago, started playing tennis in Brazil at age five. Thiago has taught at Barra Sul and Centro Carioca Tennis Club in Brazil from 1999 until January of 2003. Thiago is now teaching tennis with several parks and recreation programs and is also a hitting partner and coach for several clients.

Devin Gangi plays at Bucknell University and played a few seasons for Masuk High School in Monroe, where he graduated two years ago. Devin is a clay court specialist who has taught the past two summers at the Birchwood Country Club in Westport.
