New Milford 5, Newtown 3 â Myles Rich, Kevin Regan and Thomas Hutchinson scored the lead Newtown. Assisting on the goals were Bob Attanasio, Kyle Shevlin and Ned Emerson. Midfielders, Zack DâAgostino, Greg Hill and Ryan Morrissey combined for 17 ground balls. The defensive trio of Scott Regnery, Alex Divico and Nick Maurer all played well.

Eli 5, Newtown 1 â Despite out-shooting Eli, 24-16, and picking up 54 ground balls, the locals had trouble finding the net. Defenseman Joe Bowen scored Newtownâs only goal after the running with the ball the length of the field. Ryan Golankiewicz and Bowen each scooped up five ground balls on defense with Mario Roehrs picking up four. Will Mahoney, Ryan Manning and Brendan Martin each turned in solid performances on offense.
Cheshire 3, Newtown 2 â Newtown led Cheshire 2-1 going into the half but Cheshire came back and tied it at the end of regulation play but Cheshire came back in overtime and scored the winning goal. Bobby Davenport and Will Mahoney scored once each with Ryan Golankiewicz and Blake Bell each getting an assist. Joe Banno did a great job at goalie with 12 saves.

Newtown 13, New Canaan 7 â Michael Kesnick (3), Bret Mauro (2), Dan Lawrence (2), Collin Babbage (2), Nikko Confortini, Scott Perry, Derek Calderara and Brendan Martin all scored to lead Newtown to the win. Ryan Hudock and Geno Villafano both had 2 assists. Alex Hennessey had a great game at midfield. Goalie Matt Schaniel combined with defenders Travis Benedict, Patrick Dunseith, Derek Calderara and Geno Villafano to hold New Canaan to only one goal in the entire second half.
 Newtown 14, Trumbull 8 â Michael Kesnick (5), Scott Perry (5), Nikko Confortini (2), Brendan Martin and Collin Babbage scored to lift Newtown to the win. Bret Mauro, Dan Lawrence, and Peter Omalyev played great on attack while Hank Allen and Cody Cullens played super at midfield. Derek Calderara, Alex Hennessey, and Patrick Dunseith anchored the tough defensive line for Newtown.

Newtown 9, Middlebury 3 â Carly Filler had two goals and an assist and Christie Attanasio scored two goals to lead the Senior Girls Gold. Courtney Gleason, Jen OâConnell, Emily Fiorey, Ellen Binio, and Carolyn Gingras als scored. Stephanie Soder, Julie Landin, Gingras and Nicole Frey provided assists. Lisa Isabella made 14 saves in goal while Lucy Remitz, Melissa Fitzsimons, and Rachel Rockwell combined to grab 15 ground balls.
Ridgefield 8, Newtown 4 â Stephanie Soder and Courtney Gleason had a pair of goals and Lisa Isabella made eight saves but the Senior Gold Girls lost a tough game to Ridgefield. Jen OâConnell and Carolyn Gingras had assists with Bethany Weber, Alycia Johnston, and Julie Landin combing to pick up 16 ground balls.
Southington 5, Newtown 2 â Lisa Isabella made 23 saves in goal and kept the Senior Gold Girls in the game before Southington pulled away. Stephanie Soder and Courtney Gleason scored goals with Carolyn Gingras adding an assist. Kelly Fagan, Erin Baier, and Ellen Binio played solid defense.

Newtown 6, Wakeman 6 â Moira Collier and Rachel Maley scored two goals apiece while Dana Schunter and Erica Vacaro scored one goal each to lead Newtown. Erin Ruddock and Jen Greenwood had assists. Briana Berg and Alexa Faeth were strong in goal.
Newtown 15, Danbury 8 â Rachel Maley scored three goals and dished off five assists to lead Newtown. Briana Berg, Moira Collier, Christina Ercole, Dana Schunter and Hannah Tenenbaum and Erin Ruddock scored two goals apiece. Katie McNulty and Mandy Nostrand played well on defense.
Bantam Boys
Danbury 9, Newtown 4 â Kevin Curry and Lewis Thompson each scored two goals, and Haakon Sorenson was spectacular in goal as the Bantams lost their first outing of the season in a close battle with a tough Danbury squad.
Trumbull 9, Newtown 6 â The Bantams continued to be defensively challenged as Kevin Curry scored twice in the loss, and Trey Trudell showed flashes of brilliance in goal. Lewis Thompson, Colby Summerlin, Connor Byrne and Willie Provey also scored for Newtown.
Boys 5/6
Newtown 3, Watertown 2 â Dylan Huebner, Judd Baggett and Mack Fuller scored to lift Newtown to the win. Goalie Matthew Lewin made 10 saves while Andrew Golankiewicz scooped seven ground balls. Dylan Kelleher and Timo Roehrs played well on defense.
Cheshire 4, Newtown 1 â Ben Mahony scored the lone Newtown goal. Brandon Body made seven saves in the cage while CJ Donahue, Ben DâAgostino and Andrew Golankiewicz played well.
Junior Hawks 4, Cheshire 3 â Harrison Gillis had three goals and an assist and Jake Woolf made 12 saves in goal to lead the Junior Hawks over Cheshire. Danny Greenwood also scored and Brian Cantore contributed an assist. Geraint Davies, Chris Gregory, C.J. Spath, and Timmy Arnone played strong defense.
Pomperaug 7, Junior Hawks 3 â Andrew Hyland scored three goals and Harrison Gillis added an assist but it wasnât enough to overcome a tough Pomperaug squad. Jake Woolf made eight saves in goal with Danny Greenwood, Mike Locorotondo, and Geraint Davies grabbing a combined 17 ground balls.

The Newtown girls won two of three games at the Longmeadow, Massachusetts Invitational Jamboree. The girls defeated Somers (8-4) and East Longmeadow, Massachusetts (6-3), but lost to South Hadley, Massachusetts (4-3). Betsy Vendel (4), Lisa Vendel (3), Jackie Isabella (4), Megan Bridges (3), Annie Fletcher (2) and Krystal Perotti (1) scored the goals. Morgan Schick had 12 saves for the day and was supported by a great defense led by Hannah Glasrud and Michelle Siladi. Good showings by newcomers Madeline Graham, Keegan Frobey and Megan Rockwell.
