Edward James Henvy, Jr, 51, of Sandy Hook, died May 17.
He was born in Hempstead, N.Y., August 15, 1951, beloved son of the late Edward J. and Elizabeth (Touhey) Henvy. He moved to Danbury as a young boy, attending Danbury schools, and was a graduate of Danbury High School. He was a manager at SNET and was a valued employee with the company for more than 23 years.
From an early age he was a lover of animals, always showing them extreme kindness and care. He successfully trained for many years with the Housatonic Police and Schutzhund Club of Oxford. His skills with and love for his dogs was apparent in everything he did.
Ed enjoyed the beauty of nature and the outdoors, as well as art, and listening to classical music. He was a wonderful storyteller with a great sense of humor. He will always be remembered as a true and loyal friend, who never failed to offer support in time of need. He was warmhearted with a good soul, and will be deeply missed by his many friends and family.
Ed is survived by a fiancée, Maureen Adamczyk of Derby; a sister, Patricia Delaney of Bethel; a brother, Daniel Henvy of Danbury; a brother-in-law, Tom Delaney; and two nephews, David Troy and his wife, Allene, and Patrick Troy, all of Bethel; and several stepbrothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Mary Church, Bethel, Friday, May 23, at 10 am. Calling hours were scheduled Thursday, May 22, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel.
