Woman’s Club Installs Officers

The Newtown Woman’s Club held its May luncheon meeting at The Heritage in Southbury.

A new slate of officers for the new club beginning in September was installed by Jean Brown, third vice-president of the General Federation of Woman’s Clubs for Connecticut. Ms Brown also holds the titles of dean of district and state membership chairman.

The new officers for the Newtown Woman’s Club are Marcia Cavanaugh, president; Barbara Krausz, first vice-president; Florence Caron, second vice-president; Marilyn Alexander, recording secretary; Ann Kirk; corresponding secretary; Cynthia Scheibel, treasurer; Liz Meyer, assistant treasurer, and Lorraine VanderWende, historian.

The Newtown Woman’s Club is a service organization open to any woman living in Newtown. Anyone interested in obtaining information regarding this organization may contact the membership committee at 426-0530.
