Family Day For Arthritis

HEBRON — The Arthritis Foundation is sponsoring Family Day, Saturday, June 3, 10 am, at Camp Hemlocks in Hebron, a free day of education and fun for children with arthritis and their families. The day will include educational sessions for parents and various activities for the whole family. Some of the activities include crafts, games, swimming, boating, fishing and a campfire with a story. There will also be demonstration of a new warm-water exercise class for children.

Juvenile arthritis affects approximately 285,000 children in the United States, according to the Arthritis foundation. The peak time of onset for juvenile arthritis is one to three years of age and eight to 12 years of age. Children get arthritis, but with the support of community and schools, they can do many activities appropriate for their age group. Family Day offers an opportunity for children with arthritis to participate in all the day’s activities without limitations.
