Golf Tournament A Hit

 

The annual Newtown Blue & Gold Booster Club Golf Tournament may have been played under cloudy skies at the Newtown Country Club on Monday, but very few raindrops – if any – fell and it turned into yet another success.

The foursome of Chuck Tilson, Tom Wyatt, Kevin Cragin and Ron Rux walked away, after a match of cards, with the first-place prize of $45 each with a blistering round of 58. Coming in second, also at 58, was the foursome of Dave Carino, Mike Kelly, Charlie Carino and Rich Ferguson, and each won $30 for their efforts.

The longest drive prizes went to Tim Moulton and Rebekah Alfond while the Closest to the Line prizes went to Rebekah Alfond (96 inches) and Don Rux (1/2  inch). The Closest to the Pin awards went to Karen Ryan (9 feet, 8 inches) and Alan Helfer (6 feet, 3 inches) on No. 8 and to Joan Crick (11 feet, 5 inches) and Rich Ferguson (11 feet, 10 inches) on No. 17.
