Membersâ Art To Be Exhibited By KAA
KENT â Artist members at Kent Art Association will have their work featured in a membersâ-only exhibit beginning Saturday, May 27, at 1 pm. Awards will be presented at 3 pm that day, and the show will then continue through June 18.
Nine Awards of Excellence, at $100 each, will be presented for outstanding work in any medium. The jury of awards includes Litchfield portraitist Ronald Lee Anderson; Marlboro, N.Y., watercolorist Ellen Esposito; New Windsor, N.Y., sculptor Richard Masloski; and Wallkill, N.Y., pastel artist Joan Slocum.
All works are representational, and it is expected that approximately 130 pieces of art, including oils, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, graphics and small sculpture will be on display by regional artists who live mostly in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. All work is for sale.
The gallery is open every Thursday through Sunday from 1 to 5 pm. It is at 21 South Main Street (Route 7) and can be reached by calling 860/927-3855.
A New England fishing village scene executed in acrylic by the renowned Washington (Conn.) artist Mel Crawford has been donated by the artist to Kent Art Association. The art organization is selling raffle tickets for the painting and will pick the winner at the conclusion of the fall show. The painting is on view at Kent Art Association, where tickets can be purchased during the course of the season.
