At Seven Angels
WATERBURY â Beehive, The â60âs Musical S.W.A.K. is extending its run until June 11 on the Seven Angels Theatre stage in Waterbury.
The original stage presentation of Beehive was created and directed by Larry Gallagher in 1985 and ran for over 18 months off-Broadway at The Village Gate in New York City. Now, six New York City cast members have joined with a hot six-piece band on the Seven Angels Theatre stage in a salute to the vibrant and dynamic female vocalists of the 1960s.
Beehive is a high-energy musical revue tracing the coming of age of womenâs music through 37 popular hits of the girl groups and solo singers of the 60s. The Chiffons, The Supremes, Tina Turner, Petula Clark, Leslie Gore and Aretha Franklin are just some of the pop stars portrayed.
Tickets are $20 to $35 apiece and group rates are available. Call the box office at 203/757-4676 for more information including show times. Seven Angels Theatre is in the Hamilton Park Pavilion on Plank Road, just off I-84, in Waterbury. Parking is free.
