The Newtown Senior Center celebrated Mother’s Day early with its annual lunch and bingo on the afternoon of Friday, May 10.

Earlier in the day, Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire and Rescue Ladies Auxiliary members brought decorative handmade jars that were embellished with faux flowers and ribbon as gifts for those in attendance.

Food and tea were served for guests to enjoy, and all were invited to participate in rounds of bingo, led by First Selectman Dan Rosenthal and Newtown’s new Director of Human Services Natalie Jackson.
