Stand United Now
Stand United Now
To the Editor:
The next budget referendum will be an opportunity for all education supporters to galvanize our resolve. The past two budget referendums we stood divided by unsubstantiated, conflicting information based on what a majority of the Legislative Council âthinkâ rather than what they donât know. The fact is that our superintendent of schools is on record that this budget proposal is inadequate to sustain the student-teacher ratios and services necessary to maintain a competitive, quality education for our children. This means that teacher jobs and student services will be cut because of insufficient funds.
Give the majority of Legislative Council what they need to know so that there is no need for them to âthink,â let us stand united this time with clear message, âWe vote Noâ if the Legislative Council does not decide to restore our education budget. The time to stand united is now!
