*JEFF DANIELS knows youâre not going to believe it, and heâs fine with that. But the guy who played Harry (Dunne) in Dumb and Dumber and the other Harry (Temple) in Speed is actually an extremely skilled singer, songwriter, guitarist and raconteur, according to the folks at Fairfield Theatre Company..
âIâve been writing songs for over thirty years. I donât write hits. I donât send out demos to famous singers. I just write songs,â the actor and musician wrote in part for his press release announcing a tour. âTheyâre my diaries. I had everything Iâve ever written in this big, black notebook. Some of them were typed, some were in long hand, but all of them had a time and a place that marked some moment in my life. If you really wanted to get to know me, youâd find me in there.â

*Word from Bridgeport on Monday was that the final line-up for the 15th Annual Gathering of the Vibes Music, Arts and Camping Festival had been finalized over the weekend and now includes the addition of Friday night headliner FURTHUR, featuring Grateful Deadâs Phil Lesh and Bob Weir.
The three-day event will return to Seaside Park July 29 through August 1. This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of âThe Vibesâ and the fifth time it will be hosted in the Park City. In 2009, the festival was attended by 20,000 revelers per day at the 370-acre waterfront venue. The Vibes is an all-ages, family-friendly event that caters to both weekend campers and single-day guests; both have access to the parkâs shaded groves, manicured fields and more than a mile of Long Island Sound beachfront.
Three stages of music will offer a reunited LES CLAYPOOL and PRIMUS; reggae legend and 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee JIMMY CLIFF; reggae sensation DAMIAN MARLEY with special guests; New Orleans funk superstars GALACTIC; THE RADIATORS; UMPHREYâS MCGEE; BEASTIE BOYSâ DJ âMIX MASTER MIKEâ; LITTLE FEAT, and a ton of additional musicians.
Tickets, directions, camping details and all the information you could possibly need for Vibes 2010 can be found at GatheringOfTheVibes.com.
