Blue 5, Nashua, NH 1: Casey Harkins made four saves in goal. Lauren Zimmerman and Caroline Caporale had three ground balls each. Liz Cain and Sarah OâRourke were aggressive on defense. Goals were scored by Katie Mossbarger, Brianna Sclafani and Cam Morris.
Blue 5, Somers, CT 1: Jillian DiMartino and Julia Sughrue dominated play on both ends and scored goals in the victory. Hannah Bellagamba and Alana OâDonnel added goals and scooped up two ground balls.
Blue 7, Albany, NY 1: Casey Harkins made seven saves in goal with great defensive play by Meghan Doyle and Cam Morris. Haley Harkins scooped up four ground balls and Sarah OâRourke made two assists. Katie Cappelli and Doyle scored goals along with Brianna Sclafani and Julia Sughrue
Blue 5, Northampton, MA 3: Jillian DiMartino made four saves in goal with great defense by Hannah Bellagamba and Liz Cain. Goals were scored by Harkins, Sclafani, Claudia Morris, Katie Mossbarger and Katie Cappelli
Junior Blue 8, Darien 6B 11: Jillian DiMartino and Casey Harkins combined for 11 saves. Madison Ventresca, Nicole Frascatore, Liz Cain, Lyllie McBride, and Sarah Frascatore led a strong attack on an aggressive defense. Brianna Sclafani, Lauren Zimmerman, Claudia Morris and Julia Sughrue played tremendous at midfield. Caroline Caporlae and Cam Morris were ground ball machines, combining for eight. Goals were scored by Katie Cappelli, Sclafani, Harkins, Brittany Meisenheimer, Claudia Morris and Caporale.
Bantam Girls
The Underdogs vs The Meatballs: For the Underdogs Carly Carpenter and Jenna Lavelle were both solid in goal. Jillian and Lauren Carrino combined to dominate ground balls. For the Meatballs Rachel Tomasino played a great game in goal with several great saves. Carolina Stubbs and Savannah LaFerriere played great all-round games and McKenna Timmons showed tenacity with a number of ground ball wins.
FTBs vs Jumping Jelly Beans: The FTBs played strong with dominating efforts by Jenna Carvalho on defense and Kayla OâRorke as the ground ball star on attack. Abby Pearson and Courtney Carroll saved the game in goal, while Caroline Condon, Danielle Samson, and Lizzie Hodge work together to create results on offense. For the Jumping Jelly Beans, Marissa Lametto, and Alexis Mason both had several saves in goal and were assisted with solid defense from Emma Riebe. Caroline Tousignant and Brooke Varnum both had great, controlled passes.
All-Stars vs Jumping Jelly Beans: The All-stars really lived up to their name on Sunday. They started the season never having played as a team and in just a few short weeks play extremely well together. Several goals were scored in the game but two players, Morgan Sclafani and Keeley Kortze, were able to score multiple times. Great job All-Stars! For the Jumping Jelly Beans Kiera Sughrue and Virginia Hepp had several saves in goal. Megan LeBlanc played aggressive attack with Caroline Tousignant. Goals were scored by both Hayley Lambert and Dylan Zahansky.
The Junior In-House Boys
Newtown 7, Bethel 3: Newtown hosted two games last week and won both by 7-3 scores. The defensive team of Chris Hartely, Kyle Mangold, and Tommy Rahr played strong together, giving Bethel a tough time in their defensive side of the field. Owen Gray had a solid night in goal making five saves. Scoring two goals for Newtown were Aaron Becket and Wily Zahansky; Sawyer Conrad, Josh Harrison, and Shawn McCarthy each had one. Dom Pagliaro, Tommy Elliot and Shawn McCarthy each had two assists. The Newtown boys consistently outscooped Bethel for ground balls with Kaj Djonne, and Ryan King all picking up four apiece.
Newtown 13, Bridgeport 3: Leading the scoring for Newtown was Wily Zahansky for three; Aaron Becket, David Corsi, Kaj Djonne, and Josh Harrison each had two goals, while Chris Hartley and Dom Pagliaro scored one each. For Assists: Tommy Rohr had one and Kaj Djonne two. Max Weber was busy picking up seven ground balls.

Newtown 7, New Fairfield 1: Lauren Carrino and Caroline Condon combined for six saves in goal. Brooke Varnum, Liz Hodge and Danielle Samson scooped up three ground balls apiece. Hayley Lambert, Danielle Powell, Rachel Thomasino and Lexi Leidlein controlled the defense. Goals were scored by Haley Harkins, Dylan Zahansky, Kira Smith, Olivia Hage and Cassidy Kortze.
