McLaughlin Vineyards will be hosting a wine tasting networking event for Chamber of Commerce members from Newtown, Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Monroe, and Tribury, on Friday May 21, from 5:30 to 8 pm, at 14 Alberts Hill Road in Sandy Hook.

Other organizations and individuals invited to attend are the Newtown Rotary, BNI from Newtown and Danbury, Score, First Selectman Pat Llodra, Selectman William Rodgers, and Selectman William Furrier.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample McLaughlin Vineyards’ finest wines, while networking in a casual environment, with the area’s leading business organizations. Appetizers will be provided by Sal e Pepe Restaurant, Mona Lisa, Iron Bridge at 100 Church Hill, Franco’s Pizza, My Place, Carminuccio’s, Katherine’s Kitchen, Andrea’s Pastry Shop, Blue Colony, The Villa Restaurant, and UK Gourmet.

The relaxing atmosphere will be enhanced with decorations from Lexington Gardens and a string ensemble, featuring violinists Lindsey Jones and Hasez Taghavi. Guests will also be able to participate in a gift basket raffle provided by Connecticut Web Designer.

McLaughlin Vineyards is a year-round farm dedicated to the production of quality wines and maple syrup in a natural environment. The 160-acre operation includes 15 acres of vineyards, a 2,500-case winery, hiking trails, wine education seminars, a sugar house, sugar maple trees, and even a 50-acre wildlife and bald eagle sanctuary.

Call Alice Baye at 203-426-2695, to RSVP or Christine Rinaldi at 203-270-9468, to obtain further details. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, space permitting.

A cash wine bar will be available after the wine tasting.
