Yola M. Pellegrino Kost, 78, of Trumbull and Davenport, Fla., died peacefully on May 13, with her loving family by her side at Bridgeport Hospital Hospice following a brief illness.
She was born in Bridgeport to Ernesto and Italia Verrilli Pellegrino of Castelfranco in Mascano, Italy, and was a Trumbull resident for the past 40 years, wintering in Davenport, Fla., for the past ten years. Yola was a graduate of the Cadet Nursing Program at Bridgeport Hospital, and then became head nurse of the childrenâs floor at Bridgeport Hospital.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 54 years and best friend and soul mate, Edward G. Kost of Trumbull; her cherished and devoted children, Kathi Kost Hulse of Sandy Hook, Skip Kost and his wife Chicki and granddaughter Ashley of Stratford, and Susan Kost Louis and her husband Dick; and grandchildren Matthew, Emily, and Molly of Guilford; and a sister, Jennie Esposito of Naples, Fla. Yola also leaves behind her beloved dog, Muffin.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Amelia Tomassiti and Vera Weiser.
Funeral services were held May 17 from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at Christ the King Church, Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Temporary entombment followed in St Michael Cemetery, Stratford, with final entombment to take place at the Saint Monica Mausoleum of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
