Vineyard Has Joined Passport Program

McLaughlin Vineyards in Sandy Hook has joined with the 13 wineries in Connecticut for Connecticut’s Wine Trail Passport Program.

The program urges visits to at least ten of the state’s wineries, where Wine Trail Passports can be stamped and then entered into a drawing for one of three trips to tour wineries in France, California or Long Island. The Passports are available at all Connecticut vineyards, and there is no purchase necessary to participate.

Prizes include a four-night stay, including breakfast and room taxes, at a Dolce resort. Roundtrip airfare to France or California is being provided by the Connecticut Farm Wine Development Council; roundtrip transportation from Norwalk to Long Island will be provided by Horton Silva Limousine.

The grand prize is a trip to Dolce Fregate, in St Cyr-sur-Mer, France. Located in the Provence foothills overlooking the Mediterranean and nestled within a working vineyard, the resort includes one of the top-ranked golf courses in France as well as pools, tennis and spa.

Second prize is a stay at Dolce Hayes Mansion in San Jose, Calif. The resort is a short drive from Monterey, numerous local  wineries and the beautiful beaches of Santa Cruz, and its amenities include an outdoor pool, spa, lounge and restaurant.

Third Prize is a stay at Dolce Norwalk and a visit to a winery in Long Island. Located near South Norwalk, the resort is equipped with every amenity including a fitness center, indoor poll, lounge, bar and restaurant, and high-speed Internet access.

Passports must be submitted to one of the wineries by September 1. The drawing will be held on September 6 and winners will be notified shortly thereafter by phone or email.

Connecticut’s vineyards are McLaughlin Vineyards in Sandy Hook; DiGrazia Vineyards in Brookfield; Hopkins Vineyard in New Preston; Haight Vineyard in Litchfield; Chamard Vineyards in Clinton; Stonington Vineyards in Stonington; Jonathan Edwards Winery in North Stonington; Heritage Trail Vineyards in Lisbon; Priam Vineyards in Colchester; and Sharpe Hill Vineyard in Pomfret.
