U16/18

 

Quiet Company 16, Preferred Computer Systems 16 – Ashley Christiana had the key hit that lifted the Quiet Company to the win. Bridie Rubino scored a run while Renata Villareal pitched well and Ashley Jones made some fine defensive plays. For PCS, Kelly Lindell hit the ball had while Alyson Graham and Heather Magill drove in runs.

Quiet Company 13, Ed Kelleher 12 – Kelly Ann Murphy and Catrina Morgan made solid defensive plays to lead the Quiet Company to the win. Sara Truitt and Daria Marushak had hits. For Kelleher, Kate Kelleher doubled twice, Michelle O’Rourke was solid in the field, and Melissa Fracker pitched a fine game.

 

U14

Chase Bank 15, Drug Center 11 – Shannon McGrath and Callie Koch hit doubles to lead the Chase Bank offense while Jenna Zigman and catcher Tin Sanchez (who tagged a runner at the plate to help bring an end to the game) had fine performances. For Drug Center, Katie Serock and Erin Mukwaya powered the offense while Rachael Marlin and Hillary Smith played well in the field.

Newtown Phone Book 8, Preferred Computer Systems 1 – Katie Midlik, Lauren Jones and Dayna Djonne pitched well and led the Phone Book to the win. Jones also scored a pair of runs. For PCS, Sara Regensberger scored the only runs. Allyson Graham pitched well and Heather Magill had a great game behind the dish.

Newtown Phone Book 8, George’s Pizza 6 – Dayna Djonne, Joanna Barry and Hillary Moskowitz powered the offense and led the Phone Book to the win. Rebecca Reed sparked the defense. For George’s, Alyssa Krueger pitched well while Andrea Rigby played well behind the play. Amanda Diaz and Kaitlin Freeman sparked the defense.

U12

Newtown Hardware 11, Lexington Gardens 11 – Allie Modzelewski led Newtown Hardware with seven strikeouts, allowing only one run in three innings. Taylor Ansbro hit well driving in the tying two runs. Nora Lynn Shimko and Laura Newberry helped the defense with an impressive double play. For Lexington Garden, Stephanie Sanchez pitched and played defense well. Jordan Good, Erin Fish and Kayla Harrington all had key hits.

Air Tech 9, Karen’s Fitness 4 – Lauren Hanulik went 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs scored to lead Air Tech to the win. Tracy Dunn and Samantha Defilippe provided great pitching, combining for seven strikeouts. Ava Rojo played excellent defense. For Karen’s, Morgan D’Avola led the team with good pitching while Kate Bamberg, Katelyn Adams and Scarlett O’Sullivan provided the hitting and defense.

Air Tech 7, Ricci’s Salon 6 – Airtech scored five runs in the last inning to pull out the victory. Samantha Defillipe led the comeback with three strong innings of relief work while going 2-for-2 with a triple and 2 RBIs. Lauren Hanulik, Sonja Brand-Fisher, and Ava Rojo provided support with a total of seven hits. For Ricci’s, Rebecca Devivo played great at first base with a couple of outs and batted well. Mary Kate George played good defense at second base. Genna Rossi and Brittany Ziman banged out a couple of hits apiece.

Ricci’s Salon 6, Karen’s Fitness 5 – Sarah Ferris and Leigh Snellback combined on a fine defensive play to lead Ticci’s Salon to the win. Michelle Davies and Rebecca Devivo batted well. For Karen’s, Brittany Clarke played well behind the dish while Stephanie Arndt and Kate Bamberg powered the offense.

Burton Builders 10, Ricci’s Salon 4 – Lauren Johnson struck out seven batters and Kelly Burton had a double, triple and three RBI to lead Burton Builders to the win. Kristen Errico singled and drove in two runs. For Ricci’s, Sarah Ferris, Nicole Escoda and Michelle Davies played well in the field while Jen Perez had a pair of hits.

JP Maguire 8, Dr Henry Gellert 6 – Christina Caporale had a solid base hit to lead Maguire to the win. Meaghan Davis and Christina Midlik sparked the defense.

Creative Mailing Services 10, Newtown Hardware 9 – Amanda Nealy pitched three solid innings to lead Creative Mailing to the win. Jennifer Daily had a two-run double to spark the offense. Ashley Kuligowski caught a great game and scored three runs while Emily Krewson played well at first. For Newtown Hardware, Emma-Kelly Knickerbocker sparked the offense as Ally Modzelewski, Monique Samuelson and Katie Holroyd combined for a triple play to anchor the defense.

Karen’s Fitness 8, Burton Builders 3 – Katelyn Adams made a great play from center field to second base to make an out and lead Karen’s Fitness.  Scarlett O’Sullivan caught a fly ball at third and Liz Tarshis played well both offensively and defensively. For Burton, Tyler Brindley, Jenn Callery and Lauren Johnson banged out two hits apiece to lead the offense. Lauren Johnson pitched three strong innings.

Karen’s Fitness 15, Burton Builders 12 – Celine Currier played great defense at third base to lead Karen’s Fitness to the win. Margaret Sullivan was agreat asset behind the plate catching, while Erin Kramer hit well. For Burton, Tyler Brindley and Kelly Burton scored three runs each. Stephanie Mitchell had two hits and Brady Eggleston had a run scoring single to lead the offense.

Carquest 9, Ricci’s Salon 1 – Lyndi Szabo had two hits one of which was a double that drove two runs in, to lead Carquest to the win. Nicole Maggio, Vicki Lavalla and Gina Pisacreta all doubled. For Ricci’s, Genna Rossi pitched well and struck out five batters. Theresa Viestro, Brittany Ziman, and Marykate George hit the ball hard.

U10

Bob Tendler Real Estate 14, JP Maguire 11 – Taylor MacColl, Kelly VanVeen, Caitlin Dowling and Marissa Chappell had run-scoring hits to lead Tendler to the win. For Maguire, Rachel Camejo powered the offense while Meaghan Davis pitched well and Sarah Smith executed a great forceout at home.

Student

 

Air Tech versus Newtown Police Union – Stephane Devaney and Ashley Malia paced the Air Tech offense while Victoria Hanulik and Lauren McMahon anchored the defense. For NPU, Kelly Brassard and Katie Guaragno pitched well, Samantha Cannavo was solid in the field, and Aimee Alexander hit the ball hard.
