Porco’s Construction 13, G& H Tools 6 – Jim McKee was 4-for-4 with a double, homer and three RBIs to lead Porco’s to the win. Chris Dennis was 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs, three runs scored and three RBIs while Rick Kasbarian homered and drove in two runs. Dave McKee went 3-for-3 with a triple and Dave Samoskevich went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI.

Southbury Printing 14, Bulldogs 10 – Carl Abrahamson collected four hits, including a two-run homerun, to lead Southbury Printing to the win. Howie Zipperstein also had four hits and scored three runs while Dave Passano added three hits. Pat Smith belted a solo homerun as Southbury won its third straight.

Creative Mailing Services 13, Thompsonville Furniture 11 – Frank Kuligowski had four hits, including a homer to lead Creative Mailing Services to the win. Tim Carfi, Ken Pliszka, Kevin Kuligowski, John LaFave and Ken Roche had three hits apiece.

Hurd Construction 9, Wild River Screen Printing 8 – Mike Lancaster crushed a first-inning grand slam to lead Hurd Construction on its way to a 9-8 win. Frank Lancaster chipped in with three hits while Will Lancaster, Mike Clyne, Bob McHugh and Matt Childs all had multi-hit games.

Hurd Construction 12, Greenleaf Tree Service 9 – Will Lancaster had four hits and four RBI to lead Hurd Construction to the win. Frank Lancaster, Bob McHugh and Tom Wyatt added three hits apiece.

Wild River Screen Printing 18, Charter Communications 4 – Charlie Coates, Mark Fracker and Joe Brown banged out three hits apiece to lead Wild River to the win. Kent Orr belted a home run.

Weeknite Slo-Pitch

The Weeknite Slo-Pitch Softball League opened play this week at Treadwell Park, with eight teams hitting the field – Kellogg’s Hardwood, Hot Shots, O’Grady-Miller Construction, 100 Church Hill, Nice Guys Finish Last, Newtown Phone Books, Fireside Inn and TNT-Partners.

The schedule for next Tuesday has Phone Book versus Fireside at 6:15 pm, Church Hill versus Phone Book at 7:30 pm, and Nice Guys versus Church Hill at 8:45 pm. The schedule for next Thursday has OMC versus Hot Shots at 6:15 pm, Hot Shots versus Nice Guys at 7:30 pm, and Kellogg’s versus TNT at 8:45 pm.
