Registration Open For Chamber

Music Institute And Festival

WATERBURY — Greater Waterbury Classic Concerts has opened registration for its Chamber Music Institute and Festival, a unique summer music experience for music students ages 5-25. The dates, which are earlier than usual this year, are June 21 to July 2.

The program, to be held at St Margaret’s-McTernan School, offers instruction and master classes in most instruments and voice. Students will have numerous performance opportunities for solos as well as chamber ensembles, chamber orchestra and chamber choir.

Cost of the full time program is $750. The part-time program (8:30 am to 2:30 pm) is $500. Registration deadline is June 15.

Daily schedule includes classes in music theory, composition, and appreciation, lectures on music history and vocal workshops for all participants. Students will perform side by side with world-renowned artists and have discussions with prominent contemporary composers.

During an hour for recreational activities, students will be able to use the playground, soccer field, or play musical games.
