National Trails Day At Tarrywile Park
DANBURY â Eastern Mountain Sports and The Outing Club will be co-sponsoring National Trails Day activities on Saturday, June 5, at Tarrywile Park, 170 Southern Boulevard, from 9 am to 3 pm, for the tenth year in a row.
This year will include trail maintenance projects focusing on basic trail maintenance, trail marking (for the new color coded trail system at Tarrywile Park), bridge building, and mountain bike trail maintenance.
Along with these projects there will be mini clinics on hiking, mountain biking, and letterboxing. These clinics will include several hikes, a mountain bike trail ride, and letterboxing clinics that will include stamp carving â sponsored by the Great American Stamp Company and a special Introduction to Letterboxing clinic led by Americaâs best known letterboxing author, Randy Hall, who will also be signing copies of his book, The Letterboxerâs Companion.
To volunteer to help out with any of the trail maintenance projects listed above call 794-1043. Preregistration by May 28 is requested.
The main entrance to Tarrywile Park is opposite Immaculate High School.
