Meet The Taxpayer Advocate

HARTFORD — Connecticut residents are invited to meet with an Internal Revenue Service Taxpayer Advocate in Bridgeport on Tuesday, May 25, at the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center located at 915 Lafayette Boulevard.

The Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) is an independent arm of the IRS established to protect taxpayer rights and ensure fair treatment. Its mission is to help taxpayers solve problems with the IRS and recommend changes that will prevent them.

A representative from the Taxpayer Advocate Service will be available at the IRS office on May 25, from 9 am until 3:30 pm. Taxpayers will have a chance to meet with an advocate one-on-one to discuss any question they have concerning the Taxpayer Advocate Service.
