May Garden Walk: Lilacs in Boom

BETHLEHEM — The Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden begins its annual Historic Garden Walk series with a Lilac Walk on Sunday, May 23, at 3 pm.

The public can join museum guide Jane Blaurock on a tour of the 20 varieties of lilacs in the Ferriday Garden collection to learn of their history and care. The collection includes white, purple, pink and magenta lilacs that bloom from May to late June.

Potted lilacs from the collection will also be available to purchase in the plant sales area.

The Historic Garden Walk series will continue on the fourth Sunday of each month at 3 pm, May through September. The topics will be “Cut Flowers,” “Fragrance,” “Plant Lore” and “Heritage Fruit and Nut Trees.” Cost is $5 for each program.
