Ridgefield 5, Newtown 3 â Ned Emerson, Paul Tropsa and Derek Flynn scored goals in a loss to Ridgefield. Brendan Martin had an assist. Joe Banno, Ryan Golankiewicz, Mario Roehrs, John Grimaldi and Alex Divico played well on defense.
Newtown 15, Brookfield Gold 1 â Paul Tropsa had three goals, Max Beitel had two goals and an assist, and Tim Wheeler had two goals to lead Newtown to the win. Ned Emerson had a goal and two assists, Derek Flynn had a goal and one assist and Jason Smith had two assists to support the offense. Seven other players either had a goal or an assist.

Danbury 10, Newtown 8 â Meagan Kelly had two goals and two assists and Lisa Isabella made 16 saves in goal in a tough loss to Danbury. Keegan Frobey added two goals and an assist, Caroline Kraich dished off an assist, and single goals were scored by Krystal Perrotti, Stephanie Paproski, Sarah Cioffoletti, and Jenna Ruddock.
Cheshire 6, Newtown 4 â Rachel Rockwell made six saves in goal and Meagan Kelly scored two goals to lead the strong second half comeback attempt. Renee Solheim and Sarah Cioffoletti added single goals with Michele Siladi contributing an assist. Caroline Kraich and Marnie Thompson combined to grab nine ground balls.
Somers 7, Newtown 1 â Jenna Ruddock had a terrific game in goal, making 13 saves as the Senior Gold dropped a tough game to Somers. Sarah Cioffoletti scored the lone goal and Becky Trosan and Nicole Frey had strong field games.
Newtown 9, Glastonbury 5 â Sarah Cioffoletti scored three goals and Rachel Rockwell and Lisa Isabella combined to make 14 saves in the win over Glastonbury. Keegan Frobey had two goals and an assist, Krystal Perrotti added a pair of goals, Meagan Kelly had a goal and an assist, Libby Feltch had 2 assists and Betsy Vendel added a goal. Katherine Donahue won six draws and grabbed four ground balls.
Senior Girls Blue
Newtown 10, Granby 2 â Lisa Isabella made 13 saves in goal and Courtney Gleason had two goals and an assist to lead the Senior Blue team over Granby. Lauren Clark and Betsy Vendel contributed with a pair of goals with Libby Feltch, Lauren Sudbey, Hannah Tenenbaum, and Stehanie Soder scoring single goals. Bethany Morin added an assist and Meghan Trosan was 6-0 at the center draw.
Newtown 9, Southington 4 â Twelve different players figured in the scoring, including an amazing nine assists on nine goals. Lauren Clark scored two goals and added an assist with a pair of goals each from Stephanie Soder, Courtney Gleason, and Betsy Vendel. Lauren Sudbey had a goal and an assist. Lucy Remitz added an assist and had a terrific day at the center draw going 7 - 1.
Newtown 8, Wilbraham (Massachusetts) 6 â With 2 minutes to go and facing an eight=meter free position shot, goalie Lisa Isabella, starting from five yards outside the crease, came on a dead run and made a diving save to seal the win. Libby Feltch and Hannah Tenenbaum scored two goals apiece with single goals coming from Lauren Clark, Courtney Gleason, Lauren Sudbey, and Betsy Vendel. Jen OâConnell scooped up every loose ball in the defensive half of the field. Molly Murtha kept the Wilbraham fast break in check at D wing and grabbed eight loose balls off the center draw.

Newtown 6, New Fairfield 5 (OT) â Max Paynter scored his second goal of the game two minutes into the overtime session to lead Newtown to the win. Lewis Thompson, Tyler Davenport, Jaime Bowers and Tim Dalton all scored while Ben Mahony (2) and Paynter had assists. Andrew Golankiewicz was solid on defense while Andrew Hyland had another stellar game in the cage.
Bantam Boys
Sea Gulls 12, Green Machine 10 â Will Fletcher scored six goals and Wyatt Depuy added three goals and an assist to lead the Sea Gulls. Michael Lord had a goal and an assist, Greg Frattaroli and Luke Sherwood added a goal apiece, and Charlie Feltch had two assists. For the Green Machine, Matt Vavrek and Stefan Dullinger scored four goals each with Gabe Ruiz and Corey Fisher adding single goals. Matt White and Griffin Paynter combined to make 10 saves in goal and Mason Page grabbed four ground balls.
Blue Devils 8, Eagles 7 (OT) â Daniel Hebert had two goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal in overtime, to lead the Blue Devils. Ted Benoit had a hat trick, Justin Spath scored a pair, and Roland Stephen added a goal. Michael Daubert grabbed four ground balls. Christian Sayegh scored four goals and Michael Fitzsimons added three to lead the Eagle offense. Nicholas MacKay made 11 saves in goal, Patrick Milano took six faceoffs, and Chris Arnone and Doug Pierce anchored the defense.
Lightning 17, Falcons 11 â Conor Quinn had four goals and three assists with Cody Ryan and Keenan Bennett scoring four times apiece to lead the Lightning. Brendan McNamara added three goals and Nick Pedalino scored two with Keenan Bennett, Nick Crudo, and Paolo Moscovici combining on three saves in goal. For the Falcons, James Marusi scored four goals, Nick Fatse added three goals and two assists, and Brian Kruger chipped in with two goals and an assist. Jack Curry scored a pair and Stefan Hennessey added a single goal and combined with Evan Issacs to stop 11 shots in the cage.
