Looking Forward To An Evening Of Fun

In last week’s “On the Road” column, Shannon Hicks described all the work David Lott and his group are doing to prepare for their band’s second annual concert to benefit Newtown Youth Services. This Saturday, May 22, at 8 pm at The Fireside Inn, David and his group, otherwise known as the Hat City Blues Band, will play three hours’ worth of listening and dancing music that singles, couples, and families will enjoy. Between sets there will be desserts (included in the $8 admission), raffles, and more. Young people will be “working the event” and Ann Cote will sing a number with the band. And don’t forget the dancing!

The group has signed up many local sponsors. Hat City Blues Band is also donating its performance in full, and The Fireside Inn is hosting the event by arrangement with the band. With all this effort invested and all this program excitement to look forward to on March 22, who will want to miss such an event?

David Lott, thank you for your commitment to the young people of Newtown! We look forward to a memorable evening of fun for all.
