Charles L. Asetta

Charles L. Asetta, 75, of Oakville, died at his home May 2 after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Louis B. and Constance (DeMunda) Asetta of Waterbury.

He was a veteran of the US Navy and a Teamster for 35 years, retiring in 1988. He was also a longtime member of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association and restored a number of World War II military vehicles during his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Adeline (Varrone) Asetta. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three sons, Richard Asetta and his wife Susan and their son Charles of Newtown, Stephen Asetta and his wife Deborah and their children David and Christine of Monroe, and Paul Asetta of Phoenix, Ariz. He is also survived by his brother Edward Asetta of Watertown and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held May 4 at Maiorano Funeral Home in Waterbury and Our Lady of Loreto Church in Waterbury. Burial took place at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
