Black Bears & Coyotes In Connecticut

Considering there have been a number of sightings of a bear in the Hanover district recently, Newtown residents may be especially interested in the next program presented by The Housatonic Valley Group of The Sierra Club.

Henry Woods, from The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, will present “Black Bears and Coyotes in Connecticut” on Tuesday, June 1, beginning at 7:30 pm. The program will be part of the group’s monthly meeting. It will be at Newtown Congregational Church House, 41-A Main Street in Newtown.

Please note that due to a current Newtown Savings Bank construction project, the parking lot adjacent to the church building cannot be used. Plan to park on Main Street or in the lower lot of Edmond Town Hall, at 45 Main Street; a walkway runs between the two lots.

Mr Woods’ illustrated presentation will concern animals that are being seen more frequently in Connecticut towns.
