The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will have Anda Styler demonstrate painting in oil on Wednesday, May 26, at 1:30 pm. The program is open to the public. It will be in the lower level meeting room of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole).

Anda Styler’s playful and spontaneous approach shows her strong sense of color and her skills in composition and design.

Ms Styler, who lives in Sherman, received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Parson’s School of Design. She has won many awards and has exhibited her work in numerous group and one-woman shows. In November 1996 she was one of four woman artists whose work was shown at an open house for The Connecticut Commission of Women.

Ms Styler’s work has been included in many publications. She wrote a step-by-step instruction article on acrylic painting techniques for Artist Magazine (November 1997) and six full-color works are included in Acrylic Painting Techniques by Earl Killeen (North Light Publications).
