SCAN To Host Munno Demonstrating ‘How To Photograph Your Artwork’
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will present in its art demonstration series John Munno with “How to Photograph Your Artwork” on Wednesday, May 22, at 1:30 pm, at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole).
The demonstration is open to the public and admission is free.
Munno’s interest in photography started in his high school years when his father gifted him with a family heirloom camera. That camera went everywhere with him, and thus was born his love for capturing beautiful scenes and precious moments and telling stories through photography.
Munno went on to study photography at New York Institute of Photography, after which he started a career as a nature and landscape photographer with a focus on creating beauty with healing photo art for medical buildings in Connecticut.
His photography has been featured in numerous galleries across the state as well as permanent installations in hospitals and medical facilities including UConn and Yale Hospital.
Eventually his direction shifted to full-time wedding photography. Starting out as a photographer and studio manager for a large, well-established wedding photography company in Connecticut, he went on to establish his own John Munno Weddings to provide the best care, quality, and services to his clients. Munno has now been photographing weddings full time for more than ten years and has won numerous wedding photography awards as well as a long list of amazing/five star reviews and testimonials.
When he is not photographing weddings or landscapes, Munno devotes his time to teaching photography through private and group lessons and field trips including through Arts Escape and EdAdvance. Many of his students have gone on to start their own photography businesses and win numerous photography awards.
