Kathryn Masotta
Kathryn C. (Pelosi) Masotta, “Kat,” 61, formerly of Waterbury, Sandy Hook, and Wolcott, passed away on April 28. She was self-employed for many years in the New Canaan area. Kat worked in the field of construction with her husband, Harry Morrison, prior to his passing.
Kat was born in Waterbury on July 16, 1959, daughter of the late Joseph M. Pelosi, Sr, and Lois J. (Miller) Pelosi. Her hobbies included gardening, playing classical music on the piano, needlework and sewing, playing pool, and of course spending time with her family. One of her favorite things to do was visit Myrtle Beach on vacation, where she enjoyed visiting the beach and body-surfing on the waves. Kat had a larger-than-life personality and was an outgoing friend who was always inclined to help anyone who crossed her path. She always maintained a positive attitude, had an unforgettable sense of humor, and was extremely loving, kind, and generous.
Kat will be forever loved and remembered by her two daughters and their families: Bonnie Masotta-Epprecht and Dre Epprecht of Oakville and Brittany Giacolone and Christopher Giacolone of Bellevue, Washington; her grandchildren: Adrein, Phoenixx, and Reece Epprecht, and Eve and Rose Giacolone; her brothers and their families: Mark Pelosi and Sherry Cassidy of Waterbury and James Pelosi and Meridith Pelosi of Thomaston; sister-in-law Tracy Pelosi of Wolcott; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends, including her dear friend Ronald Cook.
Kat was predeceased by her brother Joseph M. Pelosi, Jr.
Due to the current pandemic, a funeral Mass will be held in October of 2021, at Mary, Mother of the Church (formerly Saints Peter and Paul Church) on Southmayd Road, Waterbury.
