Two Accidents
At about 4:17 pm on May 8, motorist Thomas Vanbuskirk, 54, of Ridgewood, N.J., who was driving a 2001 Mercedes-Benz vehicle eastward on Interstate 84, near Exit 9, slowed for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by motorist Douglas Mihalik, 65, of Stamford, who was driving a 2001 Honda Civic, state police said.
There were no injuries. Mihalik was warned for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, state police said.
A short time later, the Honda driven by Mihalik was struck from behind by a 2007 Volvo driven by Dumitru Stempovschi, 30, of Brooklyn, N.Y., state police said.
There were no injuries. Stempovschi was verbally warned for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, state police said.

Exit 11 Accident
At about 4:30 pm on May 9, motorist Lee Corbo, 48, of 165 Huntingtown Road, who was driving a 1996 Toyota Corolla eastward on Wasserman Way, stopped at a traffic signal at that road's intersection with the Exit 11 ramps for Interstate 84, state police said.
The Toyota then attempted to make a right turn onto the on-ramp, but then slowed down when an unidentified westbound vehicle made a left turn against a red traffic signal to enter that ramp, state police said.
After the Toyota slowed, it was struck from behind by eastbound motorist Rebecca Pearson, 19, of Maltbie Road, who was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta, state police said.
There were no injuries. State police said Pearson received a written warning for following too closely.
Evading Responsibility
Police report that a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic subcompact auto was parked in the parking lot in front of the Stop & Shop supermarket at Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street late on the morning of May 10, when a driver in an unknown vehicle struck the Chevrolet's rear bumper, damaging it.
Police ask anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact them at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841, in reference to Case #2016-9453.
Intersection Collision
A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Mt Pleasant Road and Taunton Lake Road about 11:11 am on May 10, according to police. Police report that motorist Heather Kwap, 40, of 11 Saw Mill Ridge Road, who was driving a 2007 Honda Odyssey minivan, had been traveling westward on Mt Pleasant Road and then stopped in preparing to make a left turn onto Taunton Lake Road.
Westbound motorist Amelia Haight, 23, of Monroe, who was driving a 2006 Toyota RAV-4 SUV, then struck the rear end of the Honda, police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the scene and treated both drivers for pain, but did not transport either person, according to police.
Police said they issued Haight a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Three Vehicles
Three vehicles were involved in an accident about 5 pm May 10 on eastbound Interstate 84, east of the Exit 9 off-ramp.
Amid slowing traffic, a 2001 Honda Accord driven by Javon Hobbs, 25, of Waterbury struck the rear end of a 2012 Suzuki Kizashi driven by Michael Manna, 38, of Waterbury, causing the Suzuki to strike the rear end of a 2013 Subaru driven by Yvonne Fisher, 73, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., state police said.
There were no injuries. Hobbs received an infraction for following too closely, state police said.

Juvenile DUI, Drug Charges
Police said they received a 911 call about 10 pm on May 10, informing them that there was a motorist driving an older Honda Civic erratically northward on South Main Street, near Bear Hills Road, so they went to the area to investigate.
Police said they located the vehicle in question in the parking lot at Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street, after which they investigated.
Police said they charged the 17-year-old male motorist with driving under the influence, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After processing, police released the boy on $250 nonsurety bail for a June 7 court appearance.
Police did not disclose the youth's identity because he is under age 18.
Ramp Collision
State police report a two-vehicle accident on westbound Interstate 84's Exit 9 on-ramp about 7:50 am on May 11.
In that incident, motorist Jennifer Dowler, 43, of Stratford, who was driving a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, struck the rear end of a 2010 Honda Civic driven by Anny Oropeza, 36, of Bridgeport, state police said.
There were no injuries. Dowler received an infraction for following too closely, state police said.
Warrant
Police report they stopped motorist Elder Selada, 27, of Danbury, near 31 Poverty Hollow Road, about 9 am on May 11 for a motor vehicle violation.
After investigating, police said they learned that Selada was wanted on a warrant on a charge of second-degree failure to appear in court, stemming from an October 2013 incident investigated by state police in which Selada was charged with two motor vehicle violations.
On May 11, police charged Selada with second-degree failure to appear in court, after which they release him on $1,000 bail for a May 25 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
SUV vs SUV
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Wasserman Way and Berkshire Road about 6:11 pm on May 11.
In that incident, motorist Elizabeth Godin, 52, of 4 Quarry Ridge Road, who was driving a 2006 Lexus RX-330 SUV, had stopped due to traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by motorist Michael Maddox, 45, of 39 Alpine Circle, who was driving a 2008 Cadillac Escalade SUV, police report.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Maddox for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
South Main Collision
Police said a three-vehicle chain-reaction accident occurred on northbound South Main Street, near Elm Drive, about 5 pm on May 12.
The accident involved motorist Daut Selman, 43, of Watertown, who was driving a 1997 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, motorist Marjorie Howgego, 46, of 5 Green Knolls Lane, who was driving a 2015 Subaru Forester SUV, and motorist Patricia Symister, 57, of 10 Pootatuck Trail, who was driving a 2005 Volvo XC-90 SUV, police report.
There were no injuries. Police said Selman received an infraction for following too closely.

Chain-Reaction
On May 12 on westbound Interstate 84 near the Exit 10 on-ramp amid congestion and stop-and-go traffic, motorist Eric Chubat, 31, of Oxford, who was driving a 2015 Subaru Impreza auto, struck the rear end of a 2011 BMW 328-XI auto driven by Michael Wilson, 63, of Shelton, pushing the BMW into the rear end of a 2012 Dodge Charger auto driven by Joy Donaldson, 48, of Woodbury, state police said.
Donaldson declined medical attention, state police said. Enforcement information was not available.
Warrant Served
Police report that after he was released from custody by the state Department of Correction on the morning of May 13, they served an arrest warrant against Justin Gaydosh, 32, of 90-A Huntingtown Road, charging him with failure to insure a motor vehicle in connection with a May 30, 2015, incident on Glen Rd.
After arrest processing, police released Gaydosh on $5,000 bail for a June 1 court appearance.
Highway Crash
State police report that at about 5:30 am on May 13, a 56-year-old Naugatuck man was driving a 2005 Hyundai Sonata sedan westward on Interstate 84, when an unknown vehicle struck the Hyundai on its left side and then drove away.
The man driving the Hyundai was not injured. State police are investigating.
Berkshire Road Accident
Police report a two-vehicle accident on Berkshire Road, about 300 feet east of its intersection with Toddy Hill Road, about 10:37 am on May 17.
Police report that motorist Ann Astarita, 50, of 32 Lyrical Lane, who was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta eastward on Berkshire Road, struck the rear end of an eastbound 2009 Subaru Outback driven by Paul Veillette, 57, of 21 Chestnut Hill Road.
Police said that both drivers were treated at the scene by the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Police report they issued a written warning to Astarita for following too closely.
