Girls' Track Team Unbeaten; Boys Earn Nine Victories
Newtown High School’s track and field teams concluded the regular season with meets this past week. The girls had their Senior Day meet on May 19, and swept the competition to complete a perfect regular season at 13-0. Newtown’s boys’ squad, meanwhile, defeated two of three opponents in a meet at Bethel, on May 18, and finished 9-5. The teams will compete in the South-West Conference championships in Weston on Tuesday, May 27, beginning at 4 pm.
In their final meet of the regular slate, the girls beat Bethel 109-41, New Milford 108-42, and Joel Barlow of Redding 107-43. Highlights are as follows:

In the boys’ team’s visit to Bethel, the Nighthawks defeated Joel Barlow 88-61 and New Milford 74-71, and fell 93-57 to Bethel. Highlights are as follows:
