WBDC Launches Opportunity Fund Grant Programs

STAMFORD — The Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC) Opportunity Fund offers additional resources to WBDC scholarship recipients to help achieve the goal of small business development and financial and professional growth. This unique program is available to all WBDC clients from 2008 forward and will offer assistance in three specific areas:

Business Planning Technology Grant. For clients who completed WBDC’s Business Planning Program. To qualify, clients must have attended minimum 80 percent of Business Planning Program sessions; submitted a business plan; and attended all group counseling sessions.

Career Development Services Grant. For clients who participated in WBDC career development services. To qualify, clients must have been an existing WBDC client (enrolled in at least two WBDC programs/services); and completed Focus Coaching program.

Advanced Financial Coaching Program Grant. For clients who have completed WBDC Financial Coaching programs. To qualify, clients must have completed all sessions of either of WBDC’s Financial Coaching programs (budget or advanced); and meet income guidelines.

Grants will be available to all eligible WBDC clients who have attended programs from 2008 forward. Distribution of all grants are at the discretion of WBDC.

One grant per year per client. One Opportunity Fund grant per component per client per lifetime.
