Reed Students To Perform ‘Annie’ This Weekend

Reed Intermediate School students have been working for six months, perfecting their “sun will come out tomorrow” attitudes, and this weekend, Friday and Saturday, the school’s musical production of Annie will open for the public.

“We are so pleased at how far these kids have come,” said director and Drama Club advisor Gina Swanson.

The Friday, May 20, presentation is scheduled for 7 pm, and the Saturday, May 21, presentation is scheduled for 6 pm. The plot follows a young orphan girl as she searches for a family.

General admission tickets will be available at the door for $5, and the show will be shown in the school’s cafetorium.

Reed Intermediate School fifth grader Tess Mubarek will be playing the lead role of Annie.

Tess said on Monday, May 16, people should attend the show, “because it is going to be a great show. And everyone has worked really hard.”
