Esther P. Stilson

Longtime Former Resident Of Sandy Hook

Esther P. Stilson, 92, formerly of Sandy Hook, died peacefully, May 7, at the Teresian House in Albany, N.Y. She was born in Osage Township, Mo., and was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Annie L. Welch Reed.

She is survived by her devoted granddaughter and caregiver, Kimberly Bowman; her children, Jill Stilson-Hemberger of Sandy Hook, Merwin Stilson of Chatham, N.Y., David Stilson of Wallingford, Terrence Stilson of Alvarado, Texas, Sharon Zilinek of Bethel, and Leslie Stilson of Latham, N.Y.; a sister; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Merwin L. Stilson, predeceased Mrs Stilson in 1992.

The family offers special thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff at McAuley Residence and the Teresian House for helping make the last three years of Mrs Stilson’s life happy and meaningful.
