Entrepreneurs, Business Owners Can Tap UConn Resources, Grads
STORRS â Some people say Connecticut is a tough place to start or build a business. What do GE, UTC, Boehringer Ingelheim, and so many others know that they donât?
They know how to get the right resources at the right prices. They have all used UConn resources as a growth engine for their business.
Now local business owners can be in the know as well.
Entrepreneurs or business owners are invited to Storrs on May 25 to learn how to have UConn, a billion-dollar resource, working for their company.
UConnâs entire business resource team will be available to speak with attendees one on one. This is an opportunity to consult with experts about business needs in technology, R&D, talent recruitment, marketing, intellectual property protection, large company partnerships, incubator space, and vendor resources.
Hear from entrepreneurs who run successful companies built on critical assistance from UConn, like Heidi Douglas of MysticMD,
Being a member of the UConn Technology Incubation Program enabled MysticMD Inc to win a $50,000 grant from the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc, funds to acquire and install battery fabrication and test equipment to demonstrate its technology to prospective customers.
Attendees may get inspired by Scott Case, co-founder of Priceline and UConn grad.
Priceline, a Connecticut company, is one of only a handful of startups in US history to reach a billion dollars in annual sales in less than 24 months.
Mr Case recently has been named CEO of Startup America Partnership, a private alliance of the countryâs most innovative entrepreneurs, corporations, universities, foundations, and other private sector leaders working to dramatically increase the prevalence and success of high-growth enterprises in the United State.
The Priceline founder will lead an interactive presentation that will guarantee attendees take away new contacts and resources to improve their business.
