Chamber Hosting Open House At NYA

Newtown Youth Academy, a community-centered health and fitness facility, will be hosting an open house for the Chamber of Commerce of Newtown and the greater Newtown business community on Wednesday, May 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, at 4 Primrose Street, in the Fairfield Hills campus in Newtown.

Attendees will meet the Newtown Youth Academy staff and tour the state-of-the-art fitness center, field house and indoor turf playing fields, and the NYA’s spacious courtyard. While appetizers are served, there will be information available on membership benefits and special programs.

Each attending chamber member will receive a two-week guest pass and a walk-through with a trainer. In addition, all guests are invited to use the facility after the event.

Newtown Youth Academy is an 86,000-square-foot, multiuse indoor sports complex that opened to the public in November 2008. The facility hosts year-round practices and games, as well as offering an 8,000-square-foot, fully equipped fitness center on the second floor and an elevated walking track.

The academy offers a full spectrum of sports programs, including indoor soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, field hockey, football, volleyball, tennis, track and more. The Kids Sports Academy offers fun daytime programming designed to help young children develop an appreciation for fitness and the foundation for training in any sport.

An outdoor patio with a 40-foot lighted fountain is available for dining and gathering. There is no charge to attend the Chamber event.
