The Unforgettable Newtown Notables
The Unforgettable Newtown Notables
To the Editor:
âNewtown Notables: Gone But Not Forgottenâ historic walking tour held at Newtown Village Cemetery on May 14 was a very well received event that I am quite proud to have been part of. The history shared by the reenactors was delivered in the most unique setting, with wit, commitment, and flair.
It took many people in our community to bring this event together. I want to thank them all for marking the townâs 300th anniversary, by getting involved in âNewtown Notablesâ¦â
My thanks goes to The Newtown Historical Society, The Newtown Village Cemetery Association, Newtown Police Department, Newtown Tercentennial Committee, Town Players, The Little Theatre, Newtown, C.H. Booth Library Staff and Youth Adult Group, Image One Printing, Peggy and Harold Gross, Marge Rogers, Kris and Rob Atwood, Newtown Soccer Club, The reenactors âDot Wenblad, Bart Scholfield, Dick Hubert, Peter MacCarthy, Nanette Maturi, Ray Horvath, John Renjilian, Nelson Tamakloe, Bill Timmel, and Gordon Williams â our guides Colleen Glaser, Sylvia Poulin, Sally OâNeil, Jim Roodhuyzen, and the backstage folks Diane Everett, Shari Rowe, Andrea Zimmermann, Dan Cruson, Christine Winner, Elin Hayes, Allan Graves, Karen Pinto Kastner, Mat Kastner, Robert Miller, Eliza Bedell, Adam Horvath. Plus The Newtown Bee, our local newspaper that keeps a growing town a community.
Sincerely, Patty Graves
