The Newtown Senior Center invited all mothers, grandmothers, and those who love moms to come out and celebrate the special ladies with an afternoon of tea and bingo.
Many guests arrived in cheery springtime pastels and their fanciest flower-covered hats for a sophisticated high tea. At the start of the party, everyone dined on a lavish assortment of finger foods and decadent chocolate covered strawberries, while catching up with friends.
After lunch, the festivities continued with rounds of bingo, where volunteer Karin Aurelia called out the numbers and Ms Place handed out prizes. First Selectman Dan Rosenthal attended the Mother's Day Tea and was seated with the ladies during bingo.
Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire andamp; Rescue Ladies Auxiliary members created handmade floral arrangements of ornate teacups filled with colorful faux flowers that were available for those in attendance.
