Newtown elementary schools held spring concerts between May 1 and May 6. Parents, community members, and fellow students were invited to see each of the events.

Hawley Elementary School and Head O’ Meadow Elementary School both had spring concerts on May 1. Hawley’s was held at Newtown High School, and Head O’ Meadow’s was held at the school.

Sandy Hook Elementary School’s spring concert was held on May 2. It was an evening that not only marked the fourth grade’s final concert performance as elementary school students, but it was also music teacher MaryRose Kristopik’s last concert before retiring at the end of the school year.

Middle Gate Elementary School’s spring concert was held at NHS on May 6.

As previously announced by the school district, there are some concerts and other events remaining this school year. The events are free, and members of the public are welcome to attend. The listings show the school, group performing, location, date, and time.

NHS Unified Theater production at the school, Saturday, May 18, at 6 pm; Sunday, May 19, at 2 pm.

NHS chorus concert at the school, Monday, May 20, 7 pm.

NHS orchestra and jazz improv concert at the school, Tuesday, May 21, 7 pm.

NHS band concert at the school, Wednesday, May 22, 7 pm.

Reed Intermediate School sixth grade orchestra and chorus concert at the school, Thursday, May 23, 7 pm.

Hawley’s art show at the school, Tuesday, May 28, 5:30 pm to 7 pm.
