NALC Food Drive Is A Success

To the Editor,

I would like to thank all the Newtown and Sandy Hook residents who made this years National Association of Letter Carriers National Food Drive a huge success.

With the help of all the wonderful and hardworking volunteers, we collected over 12,000 lbs of food for our Newtown, Sandy Hook area. I would also like to thank Nancy Taylor of the FAITH Food Pantry and Ann Piccini of Social Services for making this year’s drive run so smoothly. And thank you Dunkin Donuts for starting off our day with coffee and donuts.

And last but certainly not least many, many thanks to Italian pavilion, Pizza Palace, George’s Pizza and My Place Restaurant for donating pizza’s so the volunteers could make it through the day. And to postal management for the beverages.

And a very special thanks to the Newtown Bee for covering the story every year.

Thanks again to all.
