Family Safety Fair Set For June 3
A Family Safety Fair featuring demonstrations and safety tips for the entire community will be held from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, June 3, at St Rose Church.
Admission is free.
The event will include a car seat safety clinic by the Fairfield County Safe Kids;Â Â t Guard Auxiliary; swimming pool safety by Newtown Parks & R ecreation Department; Poision Control information from the UConn Poison Control Center.
Newtown Hook & Ladder will bring a fire truck and provide information about fire safety. The Newtown police will bring a rollover simulator and provide finger printing and trigger locks. Newtown Volunteer Ambulance will be there, too.
The Connecticut State Police will bring The Convincer, a device that shows how seat belts save lives.
There will be information on outdoor safety provided by Boy Scout Troop 770, bike inspection and Road-e-o by TC Cycle (bring your bike and your helmet), and home safety by Hartford Insuranceâs loss division.
No registration is required. The event will be held rain or shine, but if it rains the activities will move inside the parish hall.
