Boys U13
Cobra 1, Wilton 1 â Richard Greenwood scored and Patrick Riccardi played well on offense for Cobra. Stephen Conway, drew Sullivan, and Devin DiNicola controlled play in the middle and the defense was led by Alec Lockhart, Yossi Kohrman-Glaser, and Matt Rahtelli.
Boys U11 State Cup Game
Newtown White Lightning 4, Newington Scorpions 3 â In their best played game of the year in which they passed well and had more than 25 shots on goal, the White Lightning advanced to the next round of the State Cup. Going into half time there was no score although Newtown dominated more than 17 shots on goal. The second half was a different story as both teams showed excellent offensive skills but Newtown prevailed. Clay Gattey had the hat trick and Michael Cook added another goal that led Newtown to the state cup win. Luca Imbimbo, Sawyer Conrad, Ryan King and Kaj Djonne had assists. The Defense was led by Dillon Wikramanayake, Knute Johnson, and Kevin Droniak. Kevin Ovendorf made several key saves.

Game 2: League Game
Newtown White Lightning 1, Greenwich United 4 â Clay Gattey scored the lone goal while Jeremy Doski had the assist. Michael Biancardi had a couple shots on goal off passes from Ryan King. Constante Gregoire, Patrick Rowley, and Anthony Vournazos were aggressive in trying to ignite the offense. Graham Hubbert had steals in the midfield. Defensively Kevin Droniak, Knute Johnson, Dillon Wikramanayake, and Nathyn Horvath stepped it up in the second half cutting down any offensive threat from Greenwich.
Boys U12
Newtown Beasts 2 , Ridgefield 1 â The Beasts were led by goals from Matt Mossbarger and Steffan Dullinger. Robert Linden also had a strong game contributing an assist. Connor Gallagher, Matt Baldino, and Doug Miller played well on defense. Wesley Morlock and Grant Ricketts played strong in the midfield. Owen Gaston was excellent in goal.
Girls U13 State Cup Game
Orange 5, Newtown Flash 1 â The Flash put a great effort in against Orange, the defending Connecticut State Cup Champions. Lindsay Jossick looped one in for Newtown . Goalkeeper Emily Brisson frustrated Orange on several unsuccessful attempts to score. Zoe Eggleston and Bianca Solano played strong defensively.

Girls U11
Lightning 3, Wethersfield 1 (State Cup) â After a tentative start, the U11 girls found their footing and brought home a victory in their first State Cup outing. Wethersfield scored first, but Amy Martinelli hooked one in from the far right corner to tie the game for the Lightning. Kelsey Muniz scored the second goal on a loose ball in the box, and Jessica Keller put in the third on a penalty kick. Kate Fallon and Siena Cicarelli were solid in goal.
Lightning 3, Bethel 0 â After starting in goal and defending the nets until midway through the first half, Kailee Dunnigan returned to the game on the other side of the field and scored the first goal for the Lightning. Sarah Lynch followed with number two on a breakaway. Emily Riley had a great all-around game, scoring the third goal to seal the victory for Newtown. Goalie duties were split among Dunnigan, Megan Meyer, Dale Shearin, and Jessica Keller, all of whom contributed with good play to clinch the shutout. The U11 girls are now tied for first place in league action.
Girls U10
Comets 0, Fairfield 1 â Despite steady offensive pressure, the Comets surrendered their first goal and loss to Fairfield. Stellar goal keeping from Emily Charash kept the game scoreless through the first half, and solid defense by Julia Schoeni and sweeper Madeline Sieber kept the ball out of the box for most of the second half. Portia Baudisch provided a good offensive effort while Brenna Kelley added some much needed composure in the middle.Â

Boys U14
Thunderbolts 1, Wolverines 1 â Scoring for the Thunderbolts was Gavin Scallon. Evan Swain and Taylor Rutter played a great game overall, and Brandon Unger did a great job at midfield. Collin Cooper scored for the Wolverines, Craig Frigon, and Rob Beier played a great game overall, Rob Nordman did an excellent job as goalie, and Jared Wray played great offense.
Wolverines 7, Vipers 3 â Colin Cooper led the Wolverines with three goals, Miles Dubrois scored twice, and Matt Wood and Jared Wray scored a goal apiece. Robbie Beier also played well and contributed several assists. For the Vipers, Dan Olszewski scored twice, and Luke Shearin scored one goal. Nolan Cosgrove and Ryan LeMay played well at midfield and Sean Kondas played a strong overall game.
Boys U10
The Oskars 6, Team 6 4 â Matt Hess was solid in goal, Mason Melillo was strong defensively, Dillon Palumbo scored a goal, and Spencer Tolson scored two in the win. For Team 6, Kevin Droniak scored four goals, Danny McCarthy had an assist, Tommy Rahr was strong ing old, and Tommy Elliott had a good game.  .
Strikers 3, Twisters 2 â Greg Theile scored two goals and Alec Hersh scored one to lead the Strikers to victory. Bobby Katrinak had two assists, and Mike Berko and Joseph Varga both played strong overall games. Carter Nordman scored both goals for the Twisters, with Dawson Goodrich contributing an assist on one of the goals. Michael Unschuld played excellent defense for the Twisters.
Boys U8
Blue Sharks 4, Super Chargers 2 â Andrew Lee of Blue Sharks scored two goals, Bradley Wiseman and Riley Burns each scored their first goal of the season. Garrett Fetchick assisted in offense. Alex Hess of Super Chargers scored both goals. Thomas Leuci and Ryan Brell played good offense. Tiernan Keane played good defense.
Bulldogs 3, Blue Hurricanes 2 â Shave Gattey scored 2 goals and Evan Eggleston added one for the Bulldogs. Kevin Riccardi had a strong game on defense and Jack Vaughn and Owen Rahr played great all around games. Joshua Harper and Nicholas Harper did an outstanding job, each scoring for the Blue Hurricanes. On Defense Daniel Schreiber and Thomas Coppinger fought hard to keep the opposing team from scoring. Goalies Daniel Badiola and Barret DeYoung made several difficult saves.

Boys U6
Team US-01 Sharks 4, Team U6-11 Dynamo Kids 3 â For the Sharks, Ryan Beardsley had a hat-trick and Sean Arnold scored the final goal. Jacob Laros and Jeffery Gioiele played a great defensive game for the team. For Dynamo Kids, James Doyle did a great job in attack and Jonathan Nahmias was excellent in defense.
Team 2 4, Tigers 4 â Bryce Bisset scored three goals and Aidan Moulder scored one goal for Team 2, and Devon Pope, Matthew Dubois, and Jamimur Patwary played great all around games. Brendan Smith, Joe Pagett, Kyle Duval and Will Pelisson of the Tigers scored goals, and Gren Paynter played a strong defensive game.
Girls U10
Super Shooters 5, Torpedoes 1 â Stephanie Haas and Caitlin Filiato each scored a pair of goals, and Jenna Hansen added another to lead the Super Shooters. Alexis Tucker played great defense, and Courtney Datin played a strong mid-field game moving the ball to offense. Amanda Mele scored for the Torpedoes. Kayla Kordish, Anna Pinckney, Molly Begg, and Tessa Leon-Gambetta played very well all around.
Galaxy 4, Bulldogs 2 â For Galaxy two goals were scored by Sierra Mather, Meghan Grimes also scored. Excellent goaltending headed by Alexandra Dittrich with great all around play by Jonelle Tran. Hailey Conrad and Sam Dion each scored one goal for the Bulldogs. Anna Buzzanca had an outstanding game in the goal and Emily Turco and Emma Horne played great all around games.
Funky Monkeys 1, Blazing Monkeys 1 â Lauren Beier scored for the Funky Monkeys. Margaret Elkins played a great game on defense and Veronica Moyer was strong on offense. Katie Laaksonen scored for the Blazing Monkeys. Faith Pereira had a strong game on defense and Sophia Devivo was strong on offense. Christina DeBartolomeo and Brianna MacDonald had a solid all around games.

Girls U6
Fighting Irish 4, Little Devils 4 â Maggie Sheridan and Nicole Keeping of the Fighting Irish were solid defensively. Lindsey Gallagher and Heidi Poarch were outstanding on offense. Grace Goodridge was tough in the goal. For the Little Devils, Katie Sailer scored all four goals. Jackie Matthews was outstanding as goalkeeper. Julia Sullivan did a great job on offense and Simone Paradis and Grainne Flanagan played excellent defense.
Fighting Irish 3, Tigers 1 â For the Fighting Irish, Jenna Lavelle, Makayla Manoni, and Alison Kelleher all scored goals. Sarah Tressler was outstanding in the goal. The Tigersâ goal was scored by Gabrielle Reisert. Alexandra Chatzikonstantinous, Alexis Fortugnok, and Kristina Goeree played outstanding for Tigers.
