Diabetes Club Discussing Blood Sugar Sensors

DANBURY — The Diabetes Club of Danbury, a support group for people with diabetes, their families and friends, features a series of guest speaker programs and special presentations at Danbury Hospital. The next meeting takes place Monday, May 19, from 7:30 to 9 pm, in the back of the cafeteria located on the third floor, South Building.

Representatives from Medtronics / Minimed and Dex Com Companies will explain and demonstrate the newest technology for 24-hour-a-day, every-five-minute blood glucose sensing devices.

The Diabetes Club of Danbury meets at Danbury Hospital on the third Monday during the months of March, April, May, June, September and October.

“The goal of the free diabetes education program is to provide continuous up-to-date information and education regarding the day-to-day management of diabetes,” said Dr Robert Ruxin, attending physician, Danbury Hospital Department of Medicine, Section of Internal Medicine, certified diabetes educator and medical director of The Diabetes Club of Danbury.
