To the Editor:

I would like to offer a Thank You to the following Newtown businesses which have donated door prize gifts for this weekend’s Armed Forces Day Town Hall Jamboree.

These businesses have donated items and gift certificates to be given away free to all ticket holders:

Fireside Inn, Newtown Savings Bank, Newtown Exxon, Newtown Hardware, Sullivan’s Jewelers, Yankee Discount Wines & Liquors, Photoland, Pet Connection, Carminuccio’s Pizza, Shear Image, Newtown Cleaners, The Newtown Bee, The Ice Cream Shop (Newtown), Cater Wellness Center, and Newtown Car Care Center.

Admission for the jamboree is only $5 in advance or $7 at the door, which includes chances for all the door prizes mentioned above as well as some fantastic music performed by The Church Hill Boys, The ShoreGrass Band and a trio, The Heartstone Gospel Singers. Dancing will be encouraged so bring (or wear) soft-soled shoes. Refreshments will be available too.

Come celebrate our armed forces with the 2nd Annual Armed Forces Day Tribute, work up an appetite, and help some say thanks to some of our finest local businesses. The fun starts at 6:30 pm at the Edmond Town Hall gymnasium.
