Postmaster Receives Award For Attendance

Newtown Postmaster Paul Marciniak recently received an award in recognition of not using 2,000 hours of sick leave.

He received a plaque and gold watch for his dedication and commitment to the United States Postal Service. It was the second time in two years that a local postal service employee was honored. James Stiewing received a plaque and watch last year for also not using 2,000 hours.

The award was presented to Mr Marciniak in Hartford by Liz Doell, state manager of post office operations. This is an accomplishment that not many employees have the good health or the commitment to achieve, she said.

Mr Marciniak’s name and accomplishment will join those on a plaque that is hanging in the district offices in Hartford.
