Jenna Legros went 2-for-4 and drove in the winning run to lead My Place Pizza to an 11-10 win over The Quiet Company in Newtown Babe Ruth Softball U14 division action.

Here are more highlights:

 

U10

Union Savings 14, Burton Builders 8 – Nicole Elias and Ally Modzelewski pitched well. And Rachel Camejo went 2-for-3, scoring twice, to lead Union Savings. Caitlin D’Eramo scored three times and anchored the defense with Emily Rowe, Maggie Atkinson and Shannon Barra. For Burton, Morgan Moroney pitched well. Nicole Escola doubled and scored. Allissa Silber and Rebecca Bloom played well on defense.

Bob Tendler Real Estate 15, Dr Henry Gellert 11 – Amanda Nealy banged out a pair of hits and pitched well to lead Tendler to the win. Taylor Demirjian, Jenn Callery and Jenny Dorso led the offense. Evelyn Fahey and Hannah Basch-Gould had solid performances for Gellert.

Union Savings 8, Bob Tendler Real Estate 7 – Megan Rockwell had a bases-clearing double and Jenn Callery collected a pair of hits to lead Tendler. Pam Rothenberg played well in the field.

Newtown Insurance 13, Bob Tendler Real Estate 11 – Nicole Scanlon was 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBI and Ashley Kuligowski was 2-for-3 to lead Newtown Insurance to the win. Stephanie Sanchez pitched well and Taylor Thompson contributed a hit. For Tendler, Megan Gibbons had an RBI double while Carolyn Fagerholmd had a hit and Amanda Nealy had a fine pitching performance with seven strikeouts.

Newtown Insurance 12, Dr Henry Gellert 9 – Samantha DeFilippe doubled in a pair of runs and Scarlett O’Sullivan pitched well to lead Newtown Insurance. For Dr Gellert, Danielle Rubino and Hannah Basch-Gould banged out two hits apiece while Taylor Hennessey scored a pair of runs.

Century 21/Gleason Group 13, Dr Henry Gellert 2 – Paige Woodhouse had three hits, including a two-run double, to spark Century 21. Abby Keough, Rachel Ruiz and Jenna Bonaccorso had two hits apiece. For Dr Gellert, Hannah Basch-Gould had a pair of hits and Kate Cochrane had a double.

Union Savings 17, Century 21/Gleason Group 14 – Rachel Camejo had a home run and Nicole Elias and Ally Modzelewski banged out a couple of hits to lead Union Savings to the win. For Century 21, Rachel Ruiz belted a pair of home runs while Paige Woodhouse had one home run. Sabrina Yodelson contributed three hits.

Dr Henry Gellert 13, Karen’s Fitness Studio 11 – Janis Hubina, Alina Schwartz and Taylor Hennessey scored three runs apiece to lead Dr Gellert to the win. Evie Fahey, Brady Eggleston and Danielle Rubino drove in two runs apiece. For Karen’s Fitness, Liz Tarshis, Sarah Smith, Katie Holroyd and Erin brown played well.

Karen’s Fitness Studio 15, Dr Henry Gellert 10 – Shelly Davies and Casey Rutter pitched well while Annie Donnelly, Sheena Finlayson and Julie Ficks anchored the defense to lead Karen’s to the win. For Dr Gellert, Linnea Pearson had a couple of RBI and Katie Cochrane had two runs scored.

U12

 

Dr Curtis Beck 10, JP Maguire 4 – Alyssa Krueger had a couple of big hits to lead Beck over Maguire. Laura Johnson pitched well while Tyler Brindley and Kim Andrews made solid plays in the field. For Maguire, Kelly Lindell had a key hit and played well at shortstop as Samantha Carlisle pitched well and Laura McDade was strong at first base.

The Quiet Company 9, Newtown Hardware 3 – Nora Lynn Shimko was 2-for-3 with three RBI and pitched four strong innings to lead The Quiet Company to the win. Emily Krewson had a sun-scoring single while Danielle Peteralla made two outstanding plays at second base. For Hardware, Megan Sajovic pitched four solid innings and Taylor Ansbro sparkled in the field.

Drug Center 11, Airtech 10 – Kaitlin Marsden doubled and Gretchen Casey played well in the field to lead Drug Center. For Airtech, Lindsey Laub banged out a pair of doubles. Heleyna Conrad and Lauren Hanulik both hit the ball hard.

Rushefski Consulting 13, My Place 7 – Kate Bowen and Kate Kirrane combined on the mound for eight strikeouts and the win. Kate Schmidt and Bowen had two hits while Elisa Robertson, Kirrane and Sam Ross each had one. Jenna Legros had a good day on the mound by striking out nine batters in four innings for My Place. Joanna Barry led the hitting attack by slamming a double and driving in three runs.  Annie Hull, Renata Villereal and Carolyn Gingras each contributed with singles.

Taunton Press 24, My Place 12 – Maxx Zimmer had two singles and three RBI to lead Taunton Press to the win. Jordyn Good singled and caught fly ball at 2nd base. Meghan Barbour had a triple, single and three RBI. Chelsea Fowler had a great defensive game. For My Place, Joanna Barry belted two home runs (including a grandslam), a double, and drove in seven runs. Christie Fogelstrum had three hits and two RBI. Carolyn Gingras played great defense and Renate Villreal pitched well.

Airtech 19, JP Maguire 4 – Jenna Ruddock clubbed a grand slam home run to power Airtech. Rachel Fisher and Tara Belmont played well. For Maguire, Kelly Lindell and Genna Rossi pitched well while Jillian D’Eramo and Cristin Carlin were strong in the field.

JP Maguire 17, Dr Curtis Beck 15 – Samantha Carlisle belted a grand slam and Susan Mason collected three hits to lead Maguire to the win. Genna Rossi made several great plays at shortstop. For Dr Beck, Nicole Haylon had a grand slam, Zoe Rabinowitz had two RBI, and Julie Meehan pitched well.

My Place Pizza 11, The Quiet Company 10 – Jenna Legros went 2-for-4 (with the game-winning RBI) and pitched four strong innings to lead My Place. Joanna Barry banged out a couple of doubles and Caitlin Cosgrove went 2-for-3 with a two-run single. For The Quiet Company, Nora Lynn Shimko and Emily Kluga each went 2-for-3 at the plate. Shimko pitched well and Nicole Reyen played well at second base.

Rushefski Consulting 7, The Quiet Company 7 – Emma Kelley-Knickerbocker, Katie Schmidt and Kristen Brassard sparkled in the outfield for Rushefski. For The Quiet Company, Adelle Cerreta went 2-for 3, Emily Krewson had two RBI, and Dayne Djonne had a run-scoring single.

The Quiet Company 13, Rushefski Consulting 9 – Kendra O’Connor went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored and Jaclyn Van Waalwijk had a pair of home runs with three RBI to pace The Quiet Company. For Rushefski, Kate Bowie had a pair of hits and pitched well. Samantha Ross and Elissa Robertson combined to score five runs.

 

U14

 

Villa Restaurant 14, George’s Pizza 9 – Mary Cozens was 3-for-3 and Heather Yllanes scored a pair of runs to lead Villa. Alison McEmber had a strong game. For George’s, Catrina Morgan and Sara Peters pitched well while Kelsey Cantore and Amanda Lindblom had solid performances.

Attorney Edward Kelleher 15, George’s Pizza 14 – Kaity Herwig doubled and tripled to lead Kelleher to the win. Lauren Jones and Holly O’Day both pitched well while Tricia Reed was a stalwart on defense. For George’s, Kaitlin Eckert and Jill Tevnan had key hits. Kelsey Cantore and Ashley Balsano played well in the field and Sara Peters pitched four strong innings.

Preferred Computer Systems 19, George’s Pizza 12 – Sarah Greenfield, Katie Midlik and Sam Pribesh clubbed three home runs to lead PCS to the win. Angela Viesto and Jessica Rockwell made key putouts to spark the defense. For George’s, Meredith Palo homered and pitched well. Kayla Moore and Ashley Balsano had solid performances in the field.

Preferred Computer Systems 21, Villa Restaurant 4 – Alyson Graham and Jessica Rockwell combined to scored seven runs to lead PCS past Villa. Becky Sampson and Katie Midlik banged out four key hits to lead to eight more runs. For Villa, Jill Moses was 3-for-4 at the plate while Maddie Pearson made three fine catches in the outfield.
