Florence M. Cheney

Florence M. Cheney, 95, of Carmichael, Calif., and formerly a longtime resident of Holliston, Mass., passed away peacefully on May 6.

She was born on February 26, 1908, in Hopkinton, Mass., and was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Oliver F. Cheney.

Florence is survived by her sons, Walter G. Cheney and his wife, Sally, of Sandy Hook, and William O. Cheney and his wife, Suellen of Weston, Vt.; her daughter, Carolyn A. Burbank and her husband, George, of Sacramento, Calif. Also surviving Florence are her six grandchildren, Nancy (Burbank) Nelson of Nevada, Becky (Burbank) Eberly of California, Richard Burbank of California, Karen Cheney of Connecticut, and David Cheney of New Jersey; six great-grandchildren, Amy, Steven, Michael, Sabrina, Seanna, and Ethan; and her older sister, Helen Honey of Westborough, Mass.

Florence was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed. Her handmade quilts and hooked rugs will be cherished for years to come by all her family, and we will hold her in our hearts forever.

There will be a private, family graveside service in Hopkinton, Mass., on May 16.
