DUI Warrant
After learning that they held a warrant for his arrest, James Flynn, 38, of East Haven turned himself over to police on May 8 and was charged with driving under the influence, police said.
Flynn had been driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup truck southward on Currituck Road, near its intersection with Butterfield Road, at about 1 am February 5, when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the northbound road shoulder, after which the truck hit a large rock, struck a stone wall, rolled onto its right side, and then hit a large tree, police have said. Flynn crawled out of the vehicle after the crash. Hawleyville firefighters went to the accident. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Flynn to Danbury Hospital for treatment of various injuries after the crash.
After processing the May 8 arrest, police released Flynn on a $250 bond for a May 20 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Main Street
Police report they stopped motorist Lisa Tietjen, 39, of Derby on Main Street at about 6:24 pm May 8, after they spotted her driving a vehicle with outdated marker plates.
On investigating, police charged Tietjen with failure to display reflectorized marker plates and with driving while under suspension.
After processing the case, police released Tietjen on a promise to appear May 27 in Danbury Superior Court.
CL&P Truck
At about 8:18 am on May 8, motorist Vincent Bodetti, 18, of 12 Little Brook Lane, who was driving a 1999 Subaru Legacy, while parking the Subaru in the parking lot at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street, struck a parked 2001 International 4700 truck owned by the Connecticut Light & Power Company and driven by Maxwell Moore of Monroe, police said.
There were no injuries or enforcement actions, police said.
Key Ring
Police report that on April 19, a key ring, which is attached to five keys and a miniature harmonica, was found at Treadwell Park on Philo Curtis Road. Police are holding the item for safekeeping. The owner should contact police at 426-5841 to claim the key ring.
Phone Book Theft
Sometime between the evening of Saturday, May 5, and morning of Sunday, May 6, someone took 20 cases of telephone books from the premises of BEC Publishing at the Rocky Glen Mill at 75 Glen Road, police report. Police ask anyone with information about the crime to contact them at 426-5841.
Motor Vehicle Charges
 Police report they stopped motorist David Troccolla, 20, of 155 Alpine Drive at about 5:30 pm May 11 on Church Hill Road because the vehicle that he was driving improperly displayed a marker plate.
Police charged Troccolla with improper display of a marker plate and with driving under suspension. Police released Troccolla for a May 29 appearance in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
Washington Avenue
Sabrina Wilson, 47, of Washington Avenue was spotted driving a 1985 Volvo on Washington Avenue without a vehicle registration sticker on its rear marker plate at about 8:25 pm May 10, police report.
On investigating, police charged Wilson with driving an unregistered motor vehicle, misuse of marker plates, and driving without automotive insurance. Police released Wilson for a May 22 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Church Hill Crash
Motorist Christina Cinicola, 19, of 111 Hanover Road, who was driving a 1997 Hyundai Elantra sedan, was turning right onto Church Hill Road from the Blue Colony Diner parking lot at about 4 pm May 7, when the Hyundai collided with an eastbound 1995 Jeep Wrangler driven by Heather Page, 18, of 1 Surrey Trail, police report.
There were no injuries. Police issued Cinicola a written warning for failure to grant the right of way at a private driveway.
Jordan Hill Collision
Police report a collision between two trucks on Jordan Hill Road about 4:10 pm May 11.
Motorist Amy Azzarito, 34, of 246 Berkshire Road was driving a 2001 Ford F-350 pickup truck westward, as motorist Kathryn Lasky, 32, of Danbury was driving a 2001 Ford F-250 pickup truck eastward, police report. As the two trucks passed each other in opposite directions, their left-side exterior rear-view mirrors made contact, police said. There were no injuries or enforcement actions in the mishap, police said.
Mt Pleasant Road
Motorist Erin Michell, 16, of Bethel, who was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier, told police that she was stopped on the westbound shoulder of Mt Pleasant Road near Sawmill Road about 9:30 pm May 7, when an unidentified westbound vehicle struck the rear driver-side bumper of the Chevrolet and continued traveling westward without stopping.
Michell was not injured, police said. The case is under investigation and police ask anyone with information on the incident to contact them at 426-5841.
Route 25 Accident
Police report a two-car accident on Route 25 about 10:30 pm May 6.
Motorist Michael Tyskiewicz, 39, of Danbury, who was driving a 2002 Audi A-6 northward, crossed the roadâs centerline and sideswiped southbound motorist Francesca Ciriello, 43, of New Britain, who was driving a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant, police said.
The accident occurred while Tyskiewicz was reaching for a cellular telephone that had fallen, police said.
Brookfield ambulance volunteers transported Tyskiewicz to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries. Police issued Tyskiewicz an infraction ticket for failure to drive to the right on a curve.
Riverside Road
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Riverside Road and Jo-Mar Drive about 8:19 am May 8.
The collision involved a 2000 Chrysler Voyager minivan driven by Lisa Paynter, 44, of 36 Jo-Mar Drive, and a 1987 Buick Somerset driven by Mary Jane Magri, 38, of 138 Underhill Road, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Paynter a written warning.
Garner Incident
State police learned at 10:54 pm May 11 that a Garner Correctional Institution inmate had spat on a correction officer in the high security prison on Nunnawauk Road.
State police said they charged inmate Louis Pagan, 17, with second degree assault for allegedly spitting on correction officer Christopher Mates.
Pagan is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court May 19 to answer the charge.
Unsecured Load
While traveling eastward on Interstate 84 between Exits 8 and 9 at about 4:23 pm May 5, a metal rake fell off a 1984 GMC driven by Lance Leger, 40, of Bristol, state police said.
The fallen rake fell backward and struck a 2000 Ford driven by Carley Pesente, 40, of Waterbury, breaking the Fordâs windshield, state police said. There were no injuries. State police warned Leger for failure to secure a load.
Multiple Charges
Motorist Jessica R. Newman, 21, of Monroe was observed driving erratically on South Main Street near Rickyâs Shopping Center about 10:30 pm May 12, after which the Honda Accord she was driving left the road and struck a utility pole, police said.
On investigating the incident, police charged Newman with driving under the influence, making a restricted turn, evading responsibility, and driving under suspension.
While Newman was being booked on the charges, she became loud and struck a police officer, so she was additionally charged with breach of peace, police said.
Police held Newman on bond overnight for a court appearance the following morning in Danbury Superior Court.
Paraphernalia
Police said that on May 12 they charged Brian McLaughlin, 16, of 23 Rose Lane with possession of drug paraphernalia. After processing the case, police released McLaughlin on a promise to appear May 29 in Danbury Superior Court.
Middle School Alcohol
Police report that on May 8 they charged four eighth-grade students at Newtown Middle School with public possession of liquor by a minor. Police declined to disclose the juvenilesâ identities because they are under age 16 and their names are shielded by state law.
The incident involved a spring water bottle that contained a clear liquid believed to be rum, police said.
The four youths are scheduled to appear June 2 in Danbury Juvenile Court to answer the charges.
Larceny
Police report that someone sometime between 9:30 pm May 8 and 10:30 am May 9 stole a bread container from the rear parking area of Francoâs Pizza and Café at 228 South Main Street. The container was positioned near the rear door of the business. It is worth about $10, police said.
Church Hill Accident
Motorist Glenn Zuklie, 30, of Waterbury was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer in the eastbound âright turn onlyâ lane of Church Hill Road, near the Blue Colony Diner, about 6:10 pm May 9, police said. At that time, traffic was stopped in the eastbound âstraight aheadâ lane there, police said.
Westbound motorist Peter Jones, 50, of Redding, who was driving a 1992 Honda Accord, made a left turn to enter the dinerâs parking lot and collided with the Blazer, police said.
Zuklie experienced soreness after the crash, police said. Police issued Jones a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Sandy Hook Collision
Motorist Dorice Heron, 38, of 7 Fawnwood Road, who was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, was traveling on the eastbound right shoulder of Church Hill Road near 102 Church Hill Road and was passing stopped traffic in the eastbound travel lane at about 5:23 pm May 9, police said.
At that time, westbound motorist John Moore, 34, of 141 Edge Lake Drive, who was driving a 1992 Buick LeSabre, attempted to turn left into the parking lot at 100 Church Hill Road and collided with the Jeep, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Heron a written warning for passing on the right.
Brushy Hill Incident
Motorist Bonnie DeLorenzo, 51, of 4 Golden Pond Road, who was driving a 2002 Ford Mustang, was traveling northward on Brushy Hill Road about 12:30 pm May 10, when while she was rounding a curve, she was forced off the northbound road shoulder by a southbound vehicle, police said. The southbound vehicle did not stop, police said. DeLorenzo was not injured.
South Main Accident
Motorist Mitchell Falconer, 46, of 301 South Main Street was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer southward on South Main Street and then slowed and stopped to turn left onto Peckâs Lane at about noon May 9, when the Chevrolet was struck from behind by motorist Lorraine Sahadi, 47, of Southbury, who was driving a 1990 Honda Accord, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Sahadi an infraction ticket for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Moving Violations
Police said they saw motorist Suzanne Thibodeau, 35, of Woodbury drive through a red traffic signal at the intersection of Route 34 and Mile Hill Road at about 11:19 am May 14. Police stopped Thibodeau and investigated, charging her with failure to obey a traffic control signal and with driving under suspension.
After processing the arrest, police released Thibodeau on a $100 bond for a May 30 appearance in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
