Area CCS Scholarship Winners To Perform Sunday May 18

WOODBURY — The Connecticut Choral Society’s Fourth Annual Kannengeiser Benefit Concert, featuring the winners of the 32-school juried competition, will take place on Sunday, May 18, at 2:30 pm, at North Congregational Church. The 2003 scholarships will be presented at that time.

Jane Pappas of Roxbury, a junior at The Gunnery in Washington, and Nicole Zuraitis of Litchfield, a senior at Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship. A Special Judges Award of $500 for the study of voice will be presented to Jane E. Kim, a senior at Joel Barlow High School in Redding.

These talented young singers will be joined in performance by Pamela Hoffman of Brookfield, and Heather Narducci and Daniel Narducci of Middlebury.  These noted vocal artists also served as judges at the scholarship auditions in April.

The Chamber Singers of the CCS will also perform.

The public is cordially invited to attend the performance and its post-performance reception, which is hosted by the Friends of Woodbury Public Library.

A donation of $10 is being suggested. The church is at 11 Main Street North (telephone 203-263-2410).

Anyone who cannot attend the major fundraiser for the Kannengeiser Scholarship but is interested in contributing, a tax-deductible check may be sent to The Kannengeiser Scholarship Fund, PO Box 42, Southbury CT 06488.
