He could fix or build anything. Mr Beardsley especially relished summers in Maine with his wife and family and enjoyed playing cards.

He was a steam fitting foreman for Mitchell and Bailey, Inc, in Bridgeport for over 30 years. He belonged to the local Carpenter's Union 173 and the Plumber's Union 777. He also served in the Navy in World War II.

His loving wife of 63 years, Dawn (Christian) Beardsley; his two children, Dawn Beardsley Shortt of Englewood, Fla., and Keith Beardsley of Boston, Mass.; and his two grandchildren, Alixandra and Rory Shortt, survive him.

The family will celebrate Mr Beardsley's life with a graveside service at Lakeside Cemetery in Livermore, Maine on July 28, at 11 am.
