Back Pain And Golf: A Free Workshop

DANBURY — Physicians Health and Injury Center, at 46 Mill Plain Road, is offering a free workshop exploring the relationship of poor golfing techniques and back pain.

Experts will explain the causes, prevention and treatment of back pain in golfers, and offer a better understanding of why they may be suffering with pain. Long-term solutions will be discussed.

Participants will learn how to reduce back pain, prevent back injuries, proper swing techniques, proper warm-up techniques, and back strengthening exercises. They will receive a free swing analysis, free pain and posture analysis, and a free consultation and exam.

The workshop will be presented by Edward A. Markowitz, DC, the director of chiropractics at Physicians Health and Injury Center and a certified applied kinesiologist (one who has studied the principles of mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement), and Michael P. Smith, a former long drive champion and PGA golf professional and the director of golf at Golfdome in Brewster, NY.

The workshop will be presented on Thursday, May 25, at 7 pm, at Physicians Health and Injury Center. Seating is limited to the first 25 who register. Call 790-2921, extension 1, or visit www.physicianshealth.com for details or registration.

The first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade was in 1912.
